Getting started
From the data you already have to a first published passport.
I'm Daniel Carlman. I run DPP Agent. Season three is practical: from the data you already have to a first published passport.
Start at dppagent.com/create-dpp and paste your web address. DPP Agent reads the product pages you already publish and shows the products it found, and what it noticed. No sign-up, and nothing is published.
It also reports what it found: whether your product codes are valid GTINs, whether you publish material composition, and whether the brand name on those pages matches an LEI in the public register.
Then connect the systems your data lives in, such as Shopify, Centra, Akeneo, a CSV file or a Google Sheet. Imports arrive as drafts. If a source changes a published passport, the change waits for your review.
Each passport gets an address for its QR code. With a GTIN, that is a GS1 Digital Link: slash zero one, slash the GTIN. One recognised way, not the only one. Without a GTIN, DPP Agent can use your article number.
Before you publish, check. The editor grades each passport from A to F and lists the required fields still missing.
To publish, you sign up. Passports can be served on your own domain once you have verified it. And once a passport is published, every change to it is saved as a new version. EN 18221 asks for all changes to be archived.
Two duties in the law stay with the company placing the product on the market: uploading the identifiers and other required data to the EU registry, and making a back-up copy available through a passport service provider.
I'm Daniel. See you in the next episode.
Next time: reading a validation report. This is not legal advice.
